Beware you Dwarves...!!

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) did JRR Tolkien proud when they recently announced to change the status of Pluto as "Dwarf" Planet. In doing so they revised the "definition of planet".

Now that a bunch of "self-proclaimed-professionals" can vote to change the very definition of "planet", its only a matter of time when similar "amateurs" will be redefining "Human' and start calling some of us "Dwarf" Humans or for that matter Elves, Wizards, Orcs or Hobbits !!!

Why am I so concerned. Believe me you should be too.

As for me, during the last summer time off, I lost my "Magic Wand", and got stripped of my wizard status. [ Envious, wretched regular humans also call us Devils, but that's a different debate altogether ]

Had it not been the viral I caught [or rather viral that caught me], and the documented fact in my leave application, I could have pitched for an Elf title. [for ignorant soles aka humans: Elves are immune to sickness].

Lack of long beard spares me of Dwarf tag. Though I sure see a lot of those around the corner now a days.

Being an orc, certainly seems to be on the cards of my fortune, after a few re-births, given the amount of disfigurement I have gone through in this short life . But hopefully just not yet. [Oh yeah.. Orc are those ugly fellas stalking you, girls]

Now I don't really mind being called "human". Its a nice facade. But here I am caught in a land where everybody else is strange colored, and speaks funny language, they dine before dusk, sleep before midnight. If these are what they call human, I am sure they already know I am not.

So here I am left with no choice but to be marked as hobbit. Now Hobbits are cool. They are heroes. Saviour of the Ring. BUT hobbits are supposed to be merely 3-4 feet tall. So now somebody has to change the definition of "foot". [1 foot = 1/2 meter]. Once it comes to that, I am sure several explications have to be rewritten. We may well have to write dictionaries all over again, or better still, start conversing in Elvish [language of elves], or Khuldish [language of Dwarves] or ... possibilities are endless.

Acceptable, Huh ??
